If it’s your first time trying smørrebrød with us, here’s a quick introduction with some recommendations. If you’re already a smørrebrød pro, feel free to dive straight into the menu!
Typically, we suggest ordering 2-3 pieces and letting us know the order you’d like them served. We serve each smørrebrød as soon as it’s ready, so feel free to order an extra piece later—it’ll arrive alongside the rest of the table’s food!
The same goes for dessert. If you know what you want, you can order it right away, or wait until you’ve finished your last smørrebrød.
If you’re unsure about liking everything on your smørrebrød, we can serve it in a “kid-friendly” style, with the toppings on the side.
Over time, pretty strict traditions have developed around how to enjoy smørrebrød—for example, the typical order is fish first, then meat, and finally cheese. In some circles, it’s even considered improper to order herring without a snaps!
We’re not so strict, but we do love traditions, so if you’d like to eat your smørrebrød the “right” way, just ask!
